Every Child Ready to Read Storytime

10:30 AM | 1 Mill Street

Take part in this interactive program that has something for everyone. Sing songs, listen to stories and rhymes, and play games that encourage literacy and learning.

Talking, singing, reading and playing are the key skills and fun ways to help your child get ready to read. Recommended for age 5 and under. This is a drop-in program.

Every Child Ready to Read Storytime is also offered on Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m. at the Alder Library.

Dementia Friendly Community Workshop

2:00 PM | 1 Mill Street

Join Amanda McEwan from the Alzheimer Society Dufferin County for a dementia-friendly education session that is designed to reduce stigma and raise awareness about dementia while providing practical support for individuals living with the condition. This session will include interactive discussions about the science of dementia, associated behaviours, and community resources and will be a supportive environment for those affected by dementia to promote greater community understanding.

Whether you are someone who has a family member or loved one experiencing dementia, if you are employee or volunteer in the community in a health or related sector, work in a customer service capacity with all types of demographics, or if you experience dementia yourself, this presentation is inclusive to all. The more we learn about dementia and how it can present differently will help our day-to-day interactions be successful and meaningful for all involved. Join to learn this free workshop. Participation in this session also includes a certificate of completion.

Please RSVP to attend and receive an event reminder by registering online.

January is Alzheimer's Awareness Month in Canada. Learn what that means and how you can get involved.
