Coffee, Conversation and Books - This event has already occurred

Event Details:

"As I move in and around my garden, I am often reminded of music I’ve heard, paintings and plays I have seen, and poems and books that I have read. The issues faced by the novelist, or the composer often resemble those faced by creators of gardens."

Join Brian Bixley, author of Minding the Garden: Lilactree Farm as he explores the deep connections between gardening and other forms of art.

Brian and Maureen Bixley have been gardeners in Mulmur for fifty years. Lilactree Farm, their 2.5 acre (1 ha) garden, has been featured in local and international books and articles. Brian has organized major gardening conferences and written many articles for gardening publications in England, Scotland, the United States, and Canada, as well as The Canadian Gardeners' Journal and The American Gardeners' Journal.

Minding the Garden: Lilactree Farm includes beautiful photographs by Des Townshend. Des divides his time between Orangeville and his native Ireland.

Coffee, Conversation & Books is presented in partnership with Grand Valley Public Library and Shelburne Public Library.
