Take part in this interactive program that has something for everyone. Sing songs, listen to stories and rhymes, and play games that encourage literacy and learning.
Talking, singing, reading and playing are the key skills and fun ways to help your child get ready to read. Developing early literacy skills makes it easier for children to learn to read once they begin school, and helps to foster a lifelong love of reading and learning. No registration is required.
Recommended for age 5 and under. This is a drop-in program.
Every Child Ready to Read Storytime is also offered on Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m. at the Alder Library.

Unlocking the myth, mystery and magic
Join Peter LeBlanc in an engaging 90-minute Tarot talk as he breaks down the structure of a Tarot deck, explores the basic meanings of the cards, and offers accessible ways to incorporate Tarot into daily life. The session starts by demystifying the deck and its myths, explaining its two main components: the Major Arcana, which represents big life themes, and the Minor Arcana, which covers everyday experiences.
Peter provides you with clear explanations of the cards in plain language that removes mystical jargon and focuses on practical interpretations. He stresses that Tarot isn’t about predicting the future, but rather about using the cards as tools for reflection, self-awareness, and personal growth. The focus of this workshop is on making the Tarot welcoming, simple, accessible and relevant for all.
Please register in advance.
