Stronger Together: Braiding Wisdom, Uniting Community
The Brave Canoe in partnership with the Dufferin Community Foundation and Orangeville Public Library offer this special community gathering open to Indigenous and non-Indigenous participants. These sessions will be a chance to learn, connect, and experience traditional teachings in a welcoming space.
Two sessions are available based on age group:
12 to 2 pm for ages 11 to 18
3 to 5 pm for ages 18+
Registration is required to participate as spots are limited.
Each session includes:
Smudging Ceremony – A traditional practice to cleanse and prepare the space.
Teaching – Gain insights into Indigenous worldviews from our facilitators.
Activity – Engage in a hands-on experience making a braided bracelet that reflects the teachings.
Closing Circle – A space for reflection, sharing, and connection
