Author Talk: Cheryl van Daalen Smith - This event has already occurred

Event Details:

Celebrate National Nursing Week with this author talk featuring Cheryl van Daalen-Smith, local author, public health nurse and professor. Cheryl will speak to her debut novel The Chronicles of Paisley • Corners. Set in the Hills of Headwaters, these moving stories capture our shared humanity, the true meaning of belonging, and the power of nurses to transform lives.

Please register to attend. If the form to register is unavailable, please email libraryprograms@orangeville.ca to have your name added to the attendance list.

"van Daalen-Smith, an Ontario-based nurse, has crafted an engrossing narrative that conjures a world that combines the folksy appeal of Jan Karon’s Mitford books with the nursing perspective and advocacy found in Jenny Worth’s The Midwife (2009), the basis of a PBS series. Van Daalen-Smith is particularly deft at capturing the angst of the tale’s older characters and the town’s political dynamics and moments of heartwarming charity. This astute novel could be a springboard for a series..." — Kirkus Reviews
