After Hours Write Club - This event has already occurred

Event Details:

We’ve put together an exciting, exhilarating, engaging and enthralling writing workshop facilitated by local author Anthony Carnovale.

This is a chance for writers, artists and thinkers to come together and explore beauty, truth, life and love — yes, we believe that these things still exist. We think it’s important to create a space that is both welcoming and inclusive (to all people, to all ideas).

Using spoken word, music, multi-media and writing exercises, we’ll wriggle out of our everyday skins to search for our true voices. We’ll encourage and inspire each other through the power of language. We’ll read and write poems and stories; we’ll fiddle around with collage and find inspiring ideas in the simplest of things.

Writing can help us make sense of the chaos and madness that seems to be taking over our world; writing can make sense of the nonsense, can help silence the noise. More than ever, we need to re-imagine the world in which we live. Let’s do it with language, laughter, and with one another. Life is complicated; writing isn’t. In the end, all we can do is try. This is our try.

Pack your notebook, pens, a few books and snack. Coffee is a must!

All levels of writers welcome (aged 18 and up). Please note this workshop is a series with each session building on the last, we encourage you to attend at least two sessions if possible. Please register for each session separately (August 2, 9, 16,). On Tuesday, August 23, we will host an open mic event where participants are encouraged (not required) to share their writing.
